Epic VTT Update: Payment Progress, Marketplace Preparation, and Early Beta 10.09.2026

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share where Epic VTT stands and what has moved forward since our last update. Much of my recent work has focused on getting the platform ready for people to begin using it during early beta, including subscriptions, marketplace setup, and the live website.

The biggest new milestone is that Epic VTT’s first subscription payment test has completed successfully. I’ve also been continuing work on marketplace payment processing and the setup needed to bring maps, tokens, and their creators into that experience.

These steps matter because they support everything that happens around your game, from choosing a plan to preparing content for your next session.

Our first successful subscription payment test

Getting that first successful subscription payment test completed is an encouraging step toward early beta.

For players and DMs who choose a paid subscription, the goal is simple: choose your plan, complete the payment, and have the appropriate access connected to your account. That process needs to be dependable so you can concentrate on your game.

The successful test gives us a concrete milestone to build on. Further checks are still part of the preparation as I continue working through how payments, subscription access, and accounts behave together.

Preparing the marketplace for your games

I’ve also been working on the marketplace setup and its payment processing through Stripe. That includes creator account setup and the connections needed between submitting a collection, making it available for purchase, and handling payments.

The planned marketplace split remains 75% to the creator and 25% to Epic VTT. The payment flow is still being prepared and checked as this work continues.

For DMs, the aim is to make finding maps and tokens a useful part of campaign preparation. When you are putting together a dungeon, a town, or an encounter for the next session, having content available within the platform should make that process easier to manage.

For players, that preparation helps shape the table you sit down to enjoy, from the map your group explores to the tokens representing your characters and the creatures you meet. I want the marketplace to support that experience while also giving creators a place to offer their work.

Keeping players and DMs at the center

The recent payment and setup work supports the tabletop tools we have already been building, including character sheets, maps, tokens, journals, lighting, and campaign management.

From a player’s point of view, the experience should be straightforward: get into your account, join your group, access your character, and pick up your adventure with the information you need.

From a DM’s point of view, it should support the time you put into your campaign. Your maps, notes, encounters, and preparation need to remain useful from one session to the next, with the right information available to the right people.

Those are the everyday experiences I’m keeping in mind as Epic VTT moves toward beta. My goal remains to give DMs powerful tools while making the platform approachable for the people playing at their table.

Live setup is underway as we prepare for early beta

We have not announced our live site yet, but we are in the live setup process and gearing up for an early beta release.

Since the previous report, we have reached the first successful subscription payment test, moved further into marketplace and creator payment setup, and continued preparing the live environment for that next stage.

There is still setup and testing to work through before the public announcement. I’ll share more about access and the early beta as those preparations are ready.

On a personal level, reaching these milestones is encouraging. I’ve put a great deal of time into Epic VTT, and each step brings it closer to the point where players and DMs can start making their own stories with it.

Thank you for following the project, supporting the Kickstarter, and being part of this stage of its development.
