Cosplay Comedy Skit

Cosplay Comedy Skit is a live comedy showcase featuring performers in costume, created and performed by convention guests. This event blends cosplay with short-form comedy and is designed for an audience of tabletop RPG and card game fans who appreciate character humor, parody, and playful performances.

Skits do not need to be game-related, but performers should keep in mind the audience they are entertaining. Stand-up in costume, silly acting, character-based comedy, and short scripted skits are all welcome. The focus is creativity, fun, and laughter.

Sign-ups follow the same process as Guest Comedy and are conducted in person. Initial sign-ups take place on Thursday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM after arrival at the convention. An additional sign-up window will be available on Friday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM if slots remain open.

Performance slots are first come, first served, with an expected maximum of 22 slots, each approximately five minutes long. If the minimum number of acts is not met, additional time may be allotted to performers who need it at the discretion of event staff.

Cosplay rehearsal will be held on Friday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on the main stage. Rehearsal helps ensure smooth transitions, microphone setup, costume considerations, and stage flow.

The Cosplay Comedy Skit Show will take place on Saturday from 12:00 PM to 1:50 PM on the main stage. Performers must be present and ready backstage when called or their slot may be forfeited.

Stage Setup and Timing

Each performance slot is approximately five minutes long. Acts may be solo or group-based, and performers may include as many people as they wish in a skit. Only six microphones will be available on stage, so larger groups should plan accordingly.

Performers are expected to remain within their allotted time. Acts that exceed the time limit may be politely cut off to keep the show running on schedule.

This event is open to a mixed-age audience, including children. Light profanity is accepted but should be kept to a minimum. Vulgar, explicit, or pornographic comedy is not permitted, and sexualized or graphic material should be avoided.

Comedy should remain inclusive and respectful. Targeted harassment or demeaning jokes aimed at individuals or groups are not appropriate.

All performances must be safe for performers, staff, and the audience. Dangerous stunts, risky physical comedy, throwing objects, mock combat, or unsafe costume elements are not permitted. Performances must remain on stage at all times.

Costumes and hand-held props are allowed as long as they are safe, non-messy, and do not require stage modification or extended setup. Large costume elements should be considered carefully with movement and microphone placement in mind.

Performers must follow all instructions from stage staff and event organizers. Any act deemed unsafe or inappropriate may be modified or removed from the lineup.

Cosplay Comedy Skit performances may be photographed or recorded as part of the event. By participating, performers acknowledge they may appear in event media or promotional content.
