Tabletop RPG Area
The Tabletop RPG Area is dedicated to organized tabletop roleplaying sessions run by Volunteer Dungeon Masters. This space is designed to provide consistent, accessible, and structured gameplay for both new and experienced players throughout the convention.
Location and Hours
All tabletop RPG sessions will take place in Heritage Hall Salon B.
The RPG Area will be open daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM throughout the convention.
Session Structure
Game sessions are run in three-hour increments, allowing players to complete full adventures or focused combat encounters within a single sitting.
For the convention, two official maps will be provided and available for use. Dungeon Masters may customize any three-hour adventure or combat scenario using these maps. Adventures should be designed to comfortably fit within the three-hour session window.
Each table will have a maximum of four players per Dungeon Master to ensure pacing, clarity, and a quality play experience for everyone at the table.
The estimated number of tables will vary based on the number of available Dungeon Masters running games at any given time.
Dungeon Master Preparation
Volunteer Dungeon Masters are encouraged to sign up in advance and prepare simple, self-contained adventures using one of the provided maps. This allows for smoother transitions between sessions and helps maintain a consistent schedule throughout the event.
Dungeon Masters may adjust encounters or narrative elements as needed during play. Due to the scale of the convention, Dungeon Masters may not have time to review custom character builds in detail.
Characters and Game Systems
For Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition, pre-generated 5th-level character sheets will be available on site to allow for quick and accessible table setup.
Players may bring their own 5th-level characters if preferred. Characters must be built using standard ability score methods and standard starting equipment. Magic items, homebrew features, or unusually powerful equipment should not be included unless approved by the Dungeon Master running the session.
Other tabletop roleplaying systems are welcome; however, pre-generated character sheets will not be provided for non-D&D systems. Players using other systems must bring fully prepared characters at an equivalent mid-level power range, roughly comparable to 5th level.
Dungeon Masters Call and Reward Information for D20 Con
D20 Con is currently seeking 12 Dungeon Masters to fill dedicated RPG area roles for any tabletop RPG system. Whether you run fantasy, sci fi, horror, indie systems, or homebrew campaigns, all systems are welcome.
Specialized Dungeon Master Role
Dungeon Masters are considered a specialized volunteer role and follow a separate reward structure from General Convention Volunteers. Dungeon Masters are dedicated to the tabletop gaming area and are not rotated through general convention duties.
Important Admission Notice
Dungeon Masters are required to purchase admission initially. Event rewards are earned through gameplay participation and are distributed after eligibility requirements are met.
Dungeon Master Reward Eligibility
Dungeon Masters who run a minimum of two tabletop RPG sessions, with each session lasting approximately three hours, for a total of six hours of gameplay during the convention weekend will qualify for event rewards.
Eligible Dungeon Masters will receive:
• An official Dungeon Master shirt
• Two printed tabletop maps from the RPG section
• A 25 dollar Amazon gift card
Rewards are handed out during the convention ending ceremony after eligibility requirements are verified.
Dungeon Master Shirt Information
Dungeon Master shirts are available in limited quantities and are offered in unisex sizes Medium, Large, Extra Large, 2XL, and 3XL. Shirt size availability is not guaranteed and will be distributed while supplies last.
Dedicated Slot Availability
Only 12 dedicated Dungeon Master reward slots are available. Sign ups are handled on site, and interested Game Masters are strongly encouraged to reserve their spot as soon as they arrive at the convention.
Open Table Opportunities
In addition to the 12 dedicated reward slots, D20 Con will have 12 additional tables available for Dungeon Masters who wish to run their own games or host their own groups during the convention.
These open tables are available to any Game Master who wants to bring their own players, showcase a system, run a one shot, or organize private sessions within the convention environment.
These additional tables are not part of the specialized reward structure but provide space and opportunity for more games to be played throughout the weekend.
If you are interested in running games at D20 Con, whether in a dedicated reward slot or at an open table, plan to secure your spot early.

Player Guidelines
To ensure fairness and smooth play across all tables, all characters in any system should be created using standard rules and starting options. Exceptions may be made at the Dungeon Master’s discretion; however, due to the size of the event, Dungeon Masters may not have time to review complex or non-standard characters.
Players are strongly encouraged to either bring a standard, pre-approved character or use the provided pre-generated D&D 5th Edition characters to avoid delays and ensure timely session starts.
